叶一龙（马景涛 饰）和秦阿牛（岳跃利 饰）本是情同手足的兄弟，两人于偶然之中得到了一批价值连城的黄金，可是，秦阿牛的贪婪连累叶一龙丢掉了性命，叶一龙的妻子因此发了疯。 一晃眼多年过去，叶一龙的儿子刘寒星（马景涛 饰）已经长大成人，他回到了风起云涌的上海滩，决心为父报仇。在火车上，刘寒星结识了名为田晓晴（周海媚 饰）的女子，两人情投意合，情愫暗生。刘寒星得知曾经的秦阿牛正是如今一手遮天的大亨秦啸天，于是隐姓埋名加入了秦啸天旗下的银行，这一举动引起了秦啸天大儿子秦守成（孙兴 饰）的不满。让刘寒星没有想到的是，温婉善良的田晓晴其实是秦啸天的养女，一段纠葛复杂的爱恨情仇就此展开。。When a casino owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy to prep his retaliation.
