三位身處不同處境及人生階段的香港女生，因著各自的原因及期望，決定離開香港，嘗試在台灣這個島嶼紮根。然而，想像與現實，往往有著無可預知的距離。香港女生Faye (27歲)本打算在台北旅遊散心，暫住在嫁到台灣的好姊妹嘉嘉家裡。Faye見嘉嘉的台籍丈夫書豪無微不至，跟港男截然不同，萌生了想在台徵婚的念頭﹔潛水教練Lydia (35+歲)跟丈夫Leo(35+歲)已投資移民台灣數年，夫妻倆跟台灣拍檔佳蓉 (30+歲)一起在綠島上經營潛水店。生意上的困難夾雜生活上的不如意，Lydia越來越覺得當初懷著希望來到台灣的自己，有如坐困愁城般壓抑難耐﹔Yvonne (39歲) 在台北的技術學院當了四年美術科合約老師，自得其樂地打理著她的「伊梵的世界」blog，享受人生，真正活在當下！不久後收到校長通知：技術學院美術系收生不足，學校要精簡人手，第一個想到的當然是Yvonn...。作家珍妮特（凯瑞·福克斯 Kerry Fox饰）的一生因为苦难而坎坷，因为文字而闪光。自小，家境贫寒的她就敏感内敛，不懂与人沟通，即使学习优秀，仍然不能给她的童年灌入半点骄傲。只有一头扎紧文学的世界，珍妮特被压抑的身心才能彻底释放。命运屡屡给她打击，先是妹妹和母亲的不幸去世，随后珍妮特被误诊为精神病人，送进精神病院接受长达8年的治疗。 她用文字怀念失去的亲人，孤独的写作成为了她的精神狂欢。终于，作品发表后她得到了很多人梦寐以求的成名，也遇见了一段短暂燃烧的爱情，然而，乱哄哄的命运过后，珍妮特回归凄清的人生，重返故土继续寂寞的写作。。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
