大学生毕业生余文杰志愿到乡村当老师，但是他一到达就发现环境比想象的要恶劣得多，村长对城市里来的老师也有偏见。余文杰通过和学生的接触，与他们产生了深深的感情，也和其他老师产生了友谊。就在这时，周松老师要离开学校，而校长由于儿子的疾病无暇工作，余文杰承担了学校的重任。校长为了给孩子治病连夜出走，学校由于办学条件不够面临被撤销，在余文杰的坚持下，学校保住了。但是余文杰必须离开，去寻找更多的志愿者。就在走的前一天，余文杰发现周松老师回来了。村长也理解了他。第二天，余文杰离开山村小学，踏上了新的旅程。。Saturday Night Live aired its eighth season during the 1982–1983 season on NBC.
